Heya! Glad to see that you’ve not only stumbled upon this blog, but that you’ve taken enough of an interest in it to check on what it’s all about. If I’ve learned anything about creativity in any context, it’s that curiosity is the best tool to making the mundane fascinating.
That’s what I’m here to help with: turning seemingly ordinary characters into fascinating, fleshed-out individuals. I’ll be specifically discussing how I create characters in fantasy stories, with examples to characters I’ve come up with in the past. However, I feel that much of the advice on this blog can be applied to the creative process in general, no matter what genre or medium you might be tackling.
Wha? You want to know more about me, too?

My name’s River, and I’m currently wrapping up my third year at university. I’ve been interested in writing fantasy since kindergarten, and only became halfway decent at it by the end of high school. I’ve also had a long-standing interest in story-driven games, such as those in the Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei series.
One game you’ll see me talk a lot on this blog is Dungeons & Dragons, a game which I’m actually quite new to. I only started seriously getting into tabletop roleplaying games around two years ago, and took the next step in becoming a Dungeon Master (DM) a year after that. These types of games promote great amounts of creativity through character creation, hence why I reference them often, and why I believe most people should try involving themselves in a tabletop roleplaying experience at least once.
And that’s about that for now. I might add more to this page later Idon’tknowthanksforreadingfamIloveyou
